HOPE IN GOD
Hi, my name is Larry Mark. I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Washington and I’m glad you’ve found my website. God says that no one who hopes in Him will ever be put to shame (Psalm 25:3). I’m convinced God has more for us! Jesus said he came to give us life, and more abundantly (John 10:10). We desire more fullness in life and our relationships, we long to be more free to love and be loved, but we get stuck and we don’t know how to get beyond our stuck-ness. Professional counseling can be the catalyst for experiencing more of what God has for us in life.
Seeking to work with a professional counselor is a courageous decision and commitment to growth. Doing therapeutic work is hard, because it requires the courage to face what is painful, a desperation for more in life and the resolve to keep taking new steps. We are often wounded in relationship and can only heal in relationship, with God and others. When we are willing to know the truth about ourselves, and about Jesus, choosing his ways, he will set us free to love and experience life. (John 8:31-32).
I approach my work as a psychotherapist with a pastor’s heart and experience. I believe Jesus Christ is the only hope for healing and transforming broken hearts and relationships. I’ve seen and experienced God do transforming work my life, as He has used and met me in community, spiritual practices and therapy to help me face my own losses, crises, disappointments and experience his goodness. And I’ve seen Him work good in many others.
That’s why I believe we can hope in God, for more! It’s my great privilege as a therapist to join God in his work in your life in a small way. God wants more for us and through us for others, for good and his glory!
